4th spell of monsoon rains claims lives of 15 karachiites

KARACHI: Fifteen karachiites lost their lives as the fourth spell of Monsoon rain lashed the Metropolis for three days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday).

According to details while two kids drowned swimming in the rainwater accumulated on the roads, others got electrocuted. However, refusing to accept responsibility, KE held that the incidents of electrocution occurred indoors.

Meanwhile, in Lyari two people belonging to the same household got killed when due to heavy downpour roof of their abode collapsed. One other member of the same family, who got severely injured, is being treated in a nearby medical facility.

PMD, maintaining that sea conditions are likely to get rough to very rough, warned the fishermen to remain careful till Sunday (9th August, 2020) morning. Met dept also predicted that  till Monday 10th of August Karachi, Hyderabad, Badin and Thatta will experience rain and thunderstorms. Temperature is expected to hover between 29 to 35 degrees Celsius.
