94th National Day of KSA celebrated in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: To commemorate the 94th anniversary of the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in 1932 by its founder King Abdul Aziz, the diplomatic post here hosted a reception on Monday (23rd September, 2024).

Diplomats, expatriates, politicians, journalists, civil and military bureaucrats converged to congratulate Saudi Envoy H.E. Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malkiy on the National Day (Youm Al-Watani).

Conspicuous among others there were President Asif Ali Zardari, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Governor KPK Faisal Karim Kundi and Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori.

Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malkiy, welcoming the guests pointed towards historic brotherly relationship with Pakistan that he said was part of Saudi foreign policy.

“Today, we are not only celebrating a national occasion, but we are also celebrating the strengthening of bilateral relations that are growing stronger day after day

“The Kingdom is witnessing tremendous transformations that have included all areas of life, from economy to education, health and infrastructure.

“The Kingdom continues to play its leadership role in the Arab and Islamic worlds, especially with regard to defending the issues of the Islamic nations and supporting the stability of the region,” Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malkiy stated.

President Asif Ali Zardari, acknowledging the continuous support extended, thanked KSA for hosting 2.7 million compatriots who are contributing towards the development of the KSA and bolster economy of Pakistan by means of their remittances.

“On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to further enhancing our bilateral relations in the areas of trade, business and culture

“We will continue to work together for the advancement of our nations, the unity of Muslim Ummah, and the promotion of peace and stability in the region and beyond.

“The Kingdom has embarked on a journey of progress and modernization through Vision 2030 as the bold initiatives being taken to diversify the economy and empower the youth to build a vibrant society are truly inspiring.”

PM Shehbaz Sharif in his message termed the Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 a role model for the world and praised the progress made by KSA under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

“Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoyed historic relations based on religious and cultural values and both countries supported each other through tough times,” the premier noted.

“The people of Pakistan join me in acknowledging from the core of our hearts the Kingdom’s generosity in helping stabilize Pakistan’s economic situation from time to time…These historic gestures have touched us deeply and profoundly forever.”

Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, speaking on the occasion, invited Saudi entrepreneurs to invest in Sindh and assured all possible support to them.
