ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media Affairs Iftikhar Durrani Thursday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had firm believed in anti-corruption drive to recover the country’s looted wealth.
In an interview, he said no corrupt elements would escape from accountability.
He said former president Asif Ali Zardari had badly damaged the Pakistan People’s Party, established by former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
Asif Zardari was involved in corruption cases, he said and added that federal Cabinet had been approved the names of Zardari and Faryal Talpur to include in the Exit Control List (ECL).
He said many cases of corruption had been reported during the previous PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz tenures.
