PFUJ and KUJ launch campaign ‘Journalism is Not a Crime!’

KARACHI: Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has launched a campaign titled Journalism is not a Crime to manifest solidarity with journalists all over the world.

PFUJ & Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) members converged at the Press Club here today to condemn the recent attacks on the freedom of Media and harassment of journalists in Australia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Syria, India & Pakistan.

The campaigners urged that governments should take these attacks seriously and protect the freedom of expression instead of aendeavouring to gag the media.

Speaking on the occasion President PFUJ GM Jamali held: “Democratic forces need to unite to become stronger so that no one could pressurize them to keep silent. The media needs to keep doing its job to dig out facts and speak the truth no matter what.”
