SOUTHAMPTON: On the third day of the third and final Test against England here on Sunday (23rd August), Pakistani Test skipper Azhar Ali crossed an important milestone of 6,000 runs in Test cricket.
It is pertinent to mention here that Azhar Ali is only the fifth Pakistani batsman, and the 68th overall, to make 6,000 or more runs in Tests. The 35-year-old skipper had played 151 innings (81 Tests) to achieve this goal.
The four other Pakistani batsmen who had scored 6000 or more runs during their career are: Younis Khan (10,099 runs), Javed Miandad (8,832 runs), Inzimam-ul-Haq (8,030 runs) and Mohammad Yousuf (7,530 runs).
