200 protesters cordoned by Myanmar security forces: UN

YANGON: According to sources Myanmar security forces had cordoned some 200 peaceful protesters here voicing concern about their safety and demanding they be allowed to leave.

Taking to the Twitter the UN stated: “We are deeply concerned about the fate of some 200 peaceful protesters — incl. women —

Security forces here had cordoned the area off: “We urge the police to immediately allow them to leave safely and without reprisals.”
