Alternate dispute resolution system should be promoted: Chief Justice

KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has stated that independent judiciary is working in the country and there is no fault in the judicial system of Pakistan.

He was addressing a seminar in Karachi on Saturday. He said alternate dispute resolution system should be promoted in the country, adding this system is already working in the world.

The CJP stressed the need for establishing alternative institutions in the rural areas for speedy and inexpensive justice to the people.

The Judicial Commission had also recommended alternative system for justice, he maintained.

Justice Zaheer Jamali stressed that peaceful environment is imperative for investment and business in country, such environment should be provided to the investors.

He also urged print and electronic media to play their role in the resolution of disputes.
