Ayyan Ali permitted to go abroad, SHC orders removal of name from ECL

KARACHI: ‘Dollar Girl’ Ayyan Ali has been permitted to go abroad after Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday directed the authorities concerned to strike her name off the exit control list (ECL).

The verdict took place after Ayyan filed a plea in the SHC praying to be allowed to take her ailing mother abroad for treatment

The lawyer requested SHC to remove the name of his client from ECL as she had already been granted bail in the money laundering case.

The court stayed its decision for a further 10 days.

Model girl Ayyan’s name had been placed on the ECL on November 20, 2015. She was arrested while taking half a million dollars in her suitcase at Benazir Bhutto International Airport in March 2015.
