ISLAMABAD: Aiwan-e-Sadr (President’s House) here was the venue where President Arif Alvi had administered oath to PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif as the 24th PM of Pakistan on Monday (4th of March, 2024).
Conspicuous among others there were Envoys, Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Nawaz, Murad Ali Shah and Sarfraz Bugti (CMs of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan).
Shehbaz Sharif bagged 201 votes to be elected PM on Sunday (3rd of March, 2024) against Omar Ayub Khan, candidate of PTI-backed SIC, who secured 92 votes.

APP Adds: Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning foresees Pakistan, under the leadership of newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the new government, could achieve a greater accomplishment in the cause of national development.
“We believe that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz and the new administration, Pakistan can achieve a greater agreement in nation building, ” Mao Ning said during her regular briefing.
Felicitating Shehbaz Sharif on assumption of office of the prime minister of Pakistan, Chinese Spokesperson said, President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang had sent congratulatory messages to him.
According to the spokesperson China commended positive remarks made by the prime minister of Pakistan on bilateral relations and the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
