WASHINGTON: Following missile attack on Golan Heights’ Majdal Shams town that claimed eleven lives, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu decided to cut short US visit and expedite his return to Tel Aviv ASAP instead of Sunday (28th July, 2024) evening.

As Netanyahu threatened: “Hezbollah will pay a heavy price which it has not paid up to now”, Iran-backed Hezbollah denied its involvement in the attack. Israeli Military claimed that 12 people lost their lives while 37 others got injured because of an Iranian-made Falaq-1 Rocket that was launched from Shebaa (in Southern Lebanon) on the orders of a Hezbollah commander.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, while talking to journalists at a Presser held in Tokyo on Sunday (28th July, 2024) said that his country did not want to see the Israel-Hezbollah conflict to augment following Golan attack: “We are determined to bring the Gaza conflict to a close. It’s gone on for far too long. It’s cost far too many lives. We want to see Israelis, we want to see Palestinians, we want to see Lebanese live free from the threat of conflict and violence.”
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, taking to the Twitter (X) stated: “The perfidious attacks must stop immediately. It is important to act with cool heads. Far too many people have died already in this conflict!” Lebanon held: “Targeting civilians is a flagrant violation of international law and goes against the principles of humanity.”
