Cricket, 1st Test: Bangladesh scores 565 runs on day four

RAWALPINDI CRICKET STADIUM: Aficionados as well as the pundits, who are still feeling the humiliation of defeat by US, got another shock Saturday (24th August, 2024) when Bangladesh took a lead of 117 runs by amassing 565 runs in response to Green Shirts’ 448 for the loss of six wickets in reply to Pakistan’s 448/6 on day four of the first Test.

With Mushfiq-ur-Rahim’s 191 (runs off 341 balls) on the fourth day of the first Test played against the Green Shirts, Bengal Tigers are expecting to win the first ever test match against Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention here that the two teams have played thirteen matches so far. Pakistan won 12 and the 13th ended sans resultat.

On the second day of the 1st cricket Test Match against Bangladesh, Pakistan declared their innings at 448 for six. Saud Shakeel (with the aid of nine boundaries, scored 141 runs off 261 balls) and Muhammad Rizwan (with 11 fours and 3 sixes score 171 runs off 239 balls). They formed a partnership of 240 for the 5th wicket. Their bats yielded third centuries in test cricket for them.

Congratulations to him for scoring 150 runs with the help of 9 fours and six sixers! He has surely proven himself to be an asset for the Test . Cricket in Pakistan. What a treat to watch! Hoping to see his performance elevate in the coming matches as well, he has surely made Pakistani Cricket Fans proud”.

Bangladesh were 27 without loss of any wicket at stumps. It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan have defeated Bangladesh twelve times in all the thirteen test matches played (thirteenth ended in a draw).
