MIRPURKHAS: On the complaint of slain Dr. Shahnawaz Kunbhar’s brother-in-law Advocate Mohammed Ibrahim Kunbhar a FIR has been registered against 45 suspects at the Sindhri police station here on Friday (27th September, 2024).

DIG Javed Jiskani, then SSP Mirpurkhas Asad Chaudhry, then SSP Umerkot Asif Raza Baloch, SHO Sindhri, clerics Umer Jan Sarhandi, Ahmed Shahani (who instigated people against blasphemy suspect) and others have been accused by the complainant of acting in connivance with each other and planning the murder of his brother-in-law in police custody over the false excuse of blasphemy.

The FIR was lodged under (Pakistan Penal Code’s) Sections:

201 (punishment for causing disappearance of evidence or giving false information to screen offender);

364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder);

302 (premeditated murder);

147 (rioting);

148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon);

149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object);

120-B (criminal conspiracy);

34 (common intention);

Sections 6/7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act;

8/9 of the Torture and Custodial Death Prevention and Punishment Act of 2022.
