ISLAMABAD: Following Doha visit of PM Shehbaz Sharif, the FO here on Friday (1st Nov, 2024) has issued a joint statement saying that Pakistan and Qatar have stressed the need to enhance mutual economic partnership, trade and investments.
It may be recalled that PM Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation were welcomed by the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani here. Thanking Qatar’s continuous support in various fields, the PM highlighted investment opportunities in vital economic sectors in Pakistan.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations with a particular emphasis on investment and trade, alongside discussions on cooperation in other fields. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stressed on the Pak-Qatar aspiration to augment economic partnership, increase trade exchange, and promote investments.
PM Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during a rendezvous with Pakistani PM, discussed ways to explore various avenues of collaboration in the areas of economy, trade, investment and cultural exchange.
The Qatari Prime Minister stressed the importance of Pakistan as a strategic partner in the region, expressing his country’s commitment to deepen bilateral economic ties to serve the common interests of the two countries.
Shehbaz Sharif lauded the role of Qatar as a mediator regarding the Palestinian issue and its commitment to supporting efforts to establish security and stability in the region.
