KABUL: Afghan acting minister of refugees Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani (brother of Jalaluddin Haqqani, founder of Haqqani Network*) and six of his colleagues lost their lives on Wednesday (11th December, 2024) in a suicide bombing attack carried out outside a mosque close to his office.
Following exit of US and NATO forces, Taliban took control of the country. During their reign a certain milieu of calm prevailed all over the country. But IS is active in the region killing forigners and afghan officials by means of guns and bombs.
* During the 20-years of Taliban insurgency, the dreaded Haqqani Network had carried out a number of most violent attacks.
