PESHAWAR: Following the sectarian clashes between Shia and Non-Shia landowners here, that claimed lives of 130 people, KP Apex Committee on Friday (20th Dec 2024) pondered over means to canton the violence.

The Apex Committee, under the Chairmanship of CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur, has decided to dismantle all the bunkers and remove all firearms in order to ameliorate the deteriorating law and order state of affairs. Locals have been asked to surrender their weapons by 2nd day of Feb, 2025.

After the passage of the deadline, law enforces will confiscate all the heavy weapons in the area. He also directed to temporarily take weapons from the locals. It is pertinent to mention here that due to closure of exits and entrances, inhabitants are facing a grave dearth of food and medicine.
