LONDON: UK is in the process of relocating 33,000 Afghans, whose personal details had been accidentally forwarded to a wrong person, risking their lives.
The whole process will cost the exchequer £6 billion. It is pertinent to mention here that during Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan thousands of natives were recruited as translators or assistants by the British military.
The spreadsheet leaked happens to harbor information about those 18,700 Afghans and their relatives who had applied for the UK’s Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) scheme to evade Taliban’s actions.
