KARACHI: A case has been registered by Darakhshan Police on Saturday (2nd August, 2025) against 8 suspects for killing Khawaja Shamsul Islam advocate.
A man attired in shalwar/qameez (hiding his face behind a surgical mask/later identified as Imran Afridi) shot senior lawyer Khawaja Shamsul Islam dead, as he came out of Quran Academy Mosque at Khayaban-e-Rahat after offering a namaz-e-janaza in DHA Phase VI here on Friday (1st of August, 2025) and fled on a motorcycle.
Khawaja Shamsul Islam Advocate and his 25-year-old son Khawaja Daniyal, who also received bullet(s), were taken to a private hospital in Clifton . But the senior lawyer succumbed to his injuries. Police have taken prime suspect Imran Afridi into custody, who confessed to the murder saying he wanted to avenge murder of his father.
The main suspect Imran Afridi claimed that murdered advocate kidnapped and killed his father, due to a monetary dispute involving thirty five lakh rupees. The prime suspect claimed since he failed to get justice from relevant quarters he had no choice but to kill the advocate.
