PESHAWAR CITY/KARAK DISTRICT: Firing by unidentified militants at a vehicle carrying FC personnel in the Gargari area Tuesday (5th August, 2025) claimed four lives.
Three more people (including a cop) lost their lives when unknown assailants opened fire at them on Warsak Road, Peshawar city.

One may recall that 50 terrorists, armed with heavy weapons, attacked the Police check post in Fateh Khel area on 3rd August.
The gunmen blocked the road to the check post. But the police managed to remove the hurdles and engaged the attackers. The resultant gunbattle, that lasted for an hour, claimed life of constable Rooh Niaz Khan.
Three other cops sustained injuries, while three militants were gunned down during the exchange of fire. Search operation is being carried out in the area to nab those who fled the scene of crime and could be hiding in the adjoining area.

Earlier, militants attacked a checkpost in the border area of Takhti Khel Wazir on 23rd Jul, injuring six FC personnel who were transported to Combined Military Hospital.
According to Pakistan Govt the Afghan-based militants carry out such attacks in Pakistan after crossing the border. For instance, 4 suicide bombers crashed two vehicles, laden with explosives, onto the entrance of Cantonment area here on 4th March, damaging the perimeter wall, nearby houses and a mosque.
Following the massive blasts the militants attempted to enter the premises but security forces engaged them. After the exchange of fire a dozen terrorists were neutralised. Altogether sixteen militants died.

ISPR, informing that five soldiers gave the ultimate sacrifice during the exchange of fire, stated: “On 4th March 2025, a cowardly terrorist attack was attempted on Bannu Cantonment by Khwarij elements. The assailants sought to breach the cantonment’s security; however, their nefarious designs were swiftly and decisively foiled”.
13 civilians (including women and children) lost their lives, while thirty-one got injured due to explosions. While a mosque was damaged, roofs of nearby batiments caved in due to repercussions. Injured are being treated at District Headquarters Hospital.
Maintaining that the attack was orchestrated by Afghanistan-based militants, the interim government in Kabul has been told that Pakistan expected it to uphold its responsibilities and deny its soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan that reserves the right to take necessary measures.
