ARTHUR ASHE STADIUM (QUEENS, MANHATTAN): Aryna Sabalenka, the 27-year-old Tennis star from Belarus, successfully defended her US Open title by defeating American Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 7-6 (7/3) here on Saturday (6th Sept, 2025).
World number one Sabalenka, who clinched the fourth Grand Slam title of her career, said: “It’s crazy, all those tough lessons were worth it for this one…I’m speechless right now.”
Anisimova revealed that lighting under the arena’s closed roof contributed towards her defeat as it made the serving very difficult.
