D. I. KHAN: Security forces have neutralised seven militants during an IBO carried out on Wed (8th Oct, 2025) in the Daraban Area here.
The IBO, that claimed life of the 30-year-old Pakistan Army Major identified as Sibtain Haider (a resident of Quetta), was conducted one day after TTP militants attacked the troops in Orakzai. During the exchange of fire, eleven security personnel paid the ultimate sacrifice.
According to govt sources the killed militants were engaged in attacks against LEA personnel and civilians. Weapons were taken into custody from the slain militants.

On 8th October, nineteen militants were killed by security forces during an IBO carried out in Orakzai area near Afghan border.
Before resorting to firing militants ambushed a military convoy with a roadside bomb before opening fire. According to details the skirmish with militants also claimed lives of eleven Pakistan Army soldiers (identified as 39-year-old Lt Col Junaid Tariq, 33-year-old Major Tayyab Rahat, 38-year-old Naib Subedar Azam Gul, 35-year-old Naik Adil Hussain, 34-year-old Naik Gul Ameer, 31-year-old Lance Naik Sher Khan, 32-year-old Lance Naik Talish Faraz, 32-year-old Lance Naik Irshad Hussain, 28-year-old Sepoy Tufail Khan, 23-year-old Sepoy Aqib Ali and 24-year-old Sepoy Muhammad Zahid.)
