ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office (FO) Porte Parole Shafqat Ali Khan, while speaking to journalists here, has informed on Friday (17th Oct, 2025) that Pakistan and Kabul were attempting to find a peaceful solution to the ongoing tense state of affairs at borders by means of dialogue.

Militants

FO spokesman noted that time and again Kabul had been informed about the presence of militants in Afghanistan who were involved in anti-Pakistan activities. He said Islamabad expected that the interim Taliban Govt in Kabul would contain the menace of terrorists who cross the border to harm the neighbouring State.

Porte Parole, further pointed towards cross-border attacks carried out by Taliban between 11th to 15th Oct, and expressed profound concern over such provocative acts carried out by militants that Kabul was supposed to contain. He said that Pakistan effectively repelled the attacks in self-defence: “Our retaliatory action was against terrorist elements, not civilians,” he maintained.

Reminding those at the helm of affairs in Kabul, that Pakistan had hosted 4 million Afghan refugees for forty years, he said that Islamabad would continue to regulate the illegal migrants on its soil in accordance with global norms and domestic laws. He said that Pakistan wished to see a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan, harboring citoyens under a representative government.

Munir Akram

It may be recalled that Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to UN, while speaking during the UNSC meeting held here on 19th September, last year has pointed out that the 34th report of the UN monitoring team had shed sufficient light on the disturbing dimension of terrorism emanating from Kabul.

Calling TTP the largest terrorist organisation in Afghanistan, Munir Akram pointed out that the militants were conducting daily terrorist attacks against Pakistan with full support of the Interim Government in Kabul. Ambassador Akram held that his country was ready to cooperate with regional and international organisations to get rid of the TTP menace. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to supporting a peaceful and stable government in Kabul.
