TOKYO: The Parliament of Japan has elected conservative Sanae Takaichi as the country’s 104th (and first female) prime minister here on Tuesday (21st Oct, 2025).
Leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Sanae Takaichi, known as the Japan’s Iron Lady, bagged 237 votes in the Lower House and 125 votes in the Upper House.
