Pak-Afghan talks sans any breakthrough

RIYADH: A round of closed-door Pak-Afghan talks, facilitated by KSA, attempting to figure out means of stopping cross-border terrorism, ended here Sunday (30th Nov, 2025) sans any breakthrough.

According to sources Pak-Afghan talks failed in the past too, as the two countries are not ready to budge a single inch from their decades-long convictions. Islamabad rejected the advice of Saudi officials apropos opening the borders enabling traders from both sides of the border sell their merchandise.

Being a land-locked country Kabul desperately needs commodities from across the border. Savants at the helm of affairs are of the view that KSA might initiate the second round of talks soon. It is pertinent to mention here that talks between the two countries have repeatedly failed in the past too.
