BANNU: Four Peace Committee members (including a father and son duo) have been shot dead by unidentified gunmen, in the Gulbadin Landi Dak area here on Tuesday (13th Dec, 2026).
According to details, the vehicle harbouring members of Peace Committee, was attacked by unidentified gunmen who indiscriminately opened fire killing all of them on the spot. It is pertinent to mention here that, bewildered by the continuous attacks by militants, locals have formed Peace Committee and taken up arms in self-defence.

Miscreants attack security forces, LEAs and civilians regularly. For instance, six Policemen and one civilian lost their lives due to explosions carried out by militants in D.I. Khan on 12th Jan.

Militants in KP and Balochistan incessantly attack security forces who too keep on conducting operations against them. For instance, 12 militants were neutralised during exchange of fire here on 10th January. According to details six militants were gunned down in the first encounter that took place in N. Waziristan.

Police and security forces have carried out another operation in Kurram district and killed five more militants who were involved in killing members of security forces, LEAs as well as civilians. One more militant was slain, with the support of armed local volunteers during an exchange of fire in Khyber district. In this operation two more criminals had been arrested.

Major Adeel Zaman (36), leading his troops from the front, rendered the ultimate sacrifice during an IBO carried out in the general area Khar here on 29th December. As the result of intense exchange of fire, five militants lost their lives. Those who had been eliminated used to attack military as well as civil targets. Arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists.

On 2nd July, unidentified terrorists targeted a govt vehicle claiming lives of Nawagai’s assistant commissioner Faisal Ismail, tehsildar Abdul Wakil, subedar Noor Hakim and constable Rashid, 11 others, who got wounded, were taken to nearby medical facilities.

A day earlier, militants gunned two traffic policemen (Israel and Sanaullah) down when they were travelling from their village to duty on the Ghazni Khel-Long Khel Road near Gul Baz Dehqan. Shooters also snatched official guns from the two slain cops before bolting from the scene of crime.
