ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, that happens to enjoy relatively good terms with both US and Iran, engaged in a war since 28th Feb, has offered to help bring the duo to the negotiating table as a mediator.
It is pertinent to recall that back in 1972 Pakistan facilitated Nixon’s visit to China that later resulted into establishment of diplomatic ties between two countries. Then in 1988 Islamabad played a major role in signing of Geneva Accord that ended the chapter of USSR’s march towards warm waters via Afghanistan.
In the present scenario Pakistan had passed US message to Iran. Tehran, rejecting 15-point American proposal, presented its own 5-points for peace to Washington via Islamabad. It has further been insinuated that Istanbul and Cairo too have been playing their role as arbitrators.
Pakistan itself will benefit from peace in the region as a major portion of its oil and gas is imported from ME. Moreover, stoppage of foreign exchange being sent back home by 5,000,000 Pakistanis working there, would devastate its economy.
Trump attempts to buy time by pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction till 6th April, 2026?
Trump took to the Social Media to state: “As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 PM, Eastern Time. Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and other are going very well. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President Donald J. Trump”. But savants at the helm of affairs believe that the pause is an attempt to buy time.
Though Pentagon is denying the report, Media is running news saying that US is sending 10,000 troops (backed by squadrons of jets and armoured vehicles), in addition to the 5,000 Marines already deployed in the area. The force will be stationed at a striking distance from Kharg Island.
It has further been insinuated that Washington backs Iran’s exiled opposition group People’s Mujahedin Organization (MEK) path to power, toppling the incumbent regime in Tehran. It is also known that (crown prince) son of deposed Shah of Iran too wants to rule the country once again with the help of USA.
Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araghchi, while admitting on 27th day of War, that messages had been exchanged with USA, made it clear that could not be called a dialogue. Porte Parole of the Irani Foreign Ministry stated,… ‘while messages had been relayed through friendly countries, Tehran has not engaged in any direct or indirect talks with the US since the War commenced on 28th February, 2026’.
Taking to the Truth Social Trump stated: “The Iranian negotiators are very different and “strange.” They are “begging” us to make a deal, which they should be doing since they have been militarily obliterated, with zero chance of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they are only “looking at our proposal.”
“WRONG!!! They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty! President DJT”.
Harbouring on the subject of support from allies, Donald Trump held: “NATO nations have done absolutely nothing to help with the lunatic nation, now militarily decimated, of Iran. The USA needs nothing from NATO, but ‘never forget’ this very important point in time! President Donald J. Trump.”
