BANNU: Firing at security personnel outside NADRA office in Baka Khel Area here by unknown militants has claimed lives of a Police constable Rafiullah and a security guard Gul Shah Noor on Monday (6th April, 2026).
Similarly, another constable lost his life when unidentified militants opened fire at cops near Miryan Kinger PS here on 6th April.
Terrorists have been incessantly attacking LEA personnel in KP and Balochistan for years now. The security forces too have been retaliating constantly. For instance, they have engaged and neutralized eight militants on 2nd April, 2026 along Pak-Afghan border. Troops also recovered weapons and ammunition from the slain group of terrorists. On 3rd of April, 2026 a militant detonated his suicide jacket outside Domel Police Station here injuring 13 civilians (4 critically) and killing 5 (a man, a child & three women).
Earlier, CTD had neutralised six (banned) TTP militants during an IBO carried out in Lakki Marwat on 14th of March, 2026. According to state broadcaster, a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the slain terrorists who were involved in Friday (13.3.26) IED attack on a Police van here that claimed lives of 7 cops.
DSP of Lachi Asad Mehmood, an inspector and four constables lost their lives when militants opened fire at their Police van, near Shakardara Road in Kohat on 24th February.According to details the Police posse was escorting two individuals who were to be produced before a court of justice. One of them along with a passer-by got injured and later succumbed to their injuries. Three Policemen and a civilian, who received bullet wounds, were being provided treatment. Militants also set the Police mobile on fire.
Miscreants have attacked the Federal Constabulary (FC) fort in the Dargah Shaheedan area on 23rd Feb. The attack had claimed lives of three FC personnel. According to details at first the militants carried out an attack by means of a quadcopter and detonated four IEDs that caused injuries.
When five injured soldiers of FC were being transported to a nearby medical facility by means of two ambulances, militants attacked again. As a result three FC personnel lost their lives. The militants set one of the ambulances on fire after heavy shooting. Due to the incendie, six (including 2 rescue workers) got burnt gravely.
Security forces neutralised six militants during an IBO carried out on 21st Feb. On 13th Feb thirteen militants were killed in five separate IBOs carried out in KP. On 15th Feb fifteen terrorists were neutralised. Thirty terrorists had been neutralized by the security forces during an IBO carried out in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan district on 17th February.
Militants were engaged by security forces at their location that led to a gun battle, they went on to sanitise the terrain in order to clear it of any terrorist lurking there. Counter Terrorism Department of Kohat and Karak Police had neutralised four militants in two operations carried out on 13th/14th Nov, 2025.
According to details the culprits neutralised Muhammad Qasim, Shahid and Sahir alias Pata, who were involved in 17th Sept ambush on security barrier that claimed life of Constable Younis. Militant Sahir was also involved in shooting down Constable Bahadur during 6th Oct. attack last year on a police check post in Tor Chappar.
