N. WAZIRISTAN: Twenty-two militants have been neutralized by the security forces in 24 hours on Intelligence Based Leads that commenced on 17th May, 2026 in Shewa general area here.
According to details, during exchange of fire, 22 militants were killed. Security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the neutralised culprits who remained involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
The militants intimidated the populace of the area to obtain safe passage using human shield. “Such deplorable acts are highly condemnable and no justification can rationalise the endangerment of public lives,” ISPR stated.
Terrorists have been attacking civil and military targets in KP and Balochistan for last many years now. Security forces too have been carrying out operations to contain the menace of terrorism. A day ago (on 18th May) an IED attack, carried out in Rustam Bazaar in Wana (S. Waziristan) by unidentified militants, had consumed lives of three people (including Malik Tariq Wazir, Chief of Ahmadzai Wazir Tribe) and injured four others.
According to details when the vehicle of Malik Tariq Wazir was passing through Rustam Bazaar the the militants detonated the explosive device, that they had planted near Gulshan Plaza. Injured and the bodies have been taken to DHQ, Wana where the four injured are being treated.
According to sources, the suicide blast carried out by the militants was so colossal that it badly damaged 12 houses and injured 16 civilians. It is evident that the militants wanted to repeat the act of terrorism carried out a decade ago on 16th December 2014 at Army Public School.
Hours later, a bomber detonated his jacket near a Police vehicle parked at the main gate of G-11 District & Sessions Court building, when he was barred from entering the premises, as the result of suicide attack 12 people lost their lives while 36 others got injured, on Tuesday (11th Nov, 2025) at 12.39 PM.
