A Petrifying Nightmare

It was a dark and stormy night and we had just returned from a party, extremely late, That’s why I was feeling quite drowsy.

So I rapidly got into my bed and fell asleep. Suddenly I woke up at midnight, to get a glass of water as I was feeling very thirsty.

From the kitchen window, I saw that all my neighbors were standing outside the garden, watching me. I was puzzled to notice their appearance.

I noticed the fire had engulfed my house. I shouted for help, some people tried to come forward but the fire was getting bigger.

Astonishingly there were some lines appearing on the door saying: “Here is a riddle, solve it to get out of the trouble. Go and open each lock at your house … then you will be freed.”

I went to each door. Finally, I went inside the storeroom and opened a locked box. As I opened it a voice came from the box: “I am the ghost of the box, you have been chosen to help me. Then you will be freed from this mystery!”

I asked: “What shall I do?” He clapped three times and a magical door appeared on the wall. I quickly entered through the door.

It was very haunted. I kept walking until I came across a giant talking tree. It asked: “Why are you here?” I told it about my story. “Humm! I am ready to help you. Here take my apples”.  I thanked the tree and went back to the door.

I asked the Ghost  why it wanted the apple. The ghost replied: “Once my friend stole something from the house of my Master and blamed me for it. But, I knew about the magic and the Apple of Truth. I could make him eat it forcing him to tell the truth.”

“Since he was aware of my magic, he killed me because he was afraid of being caught. My last wish was to get the Apple of Truth. Now I got it. I am very hungry but I only eat humans! I am going to eat you…”!

Suddenly I woke up. Oh! what a petrifying nightmare it was!!
