ISLAMABAD: Nawaz Sharif who returned from London to face trial here has said that a regime worse than a martial law has been imposed in the country as manifested by the actions of the Supreme Court.
Speaking outside the accountability court he held: “What is prevalent in the country is not democracy, but the worst kind of dictatorship under Saqib Nisar.” The ousted prime minister and his daughter appeared before the court in Avenfield reference.
While terming the latest judgments as illogical Sharif remarked: “What is happening in the country is not less than a Judicial Martial Law…These many restrictions were not even imposed during the martial laws that we are seeing today”.
Noting that Justice Nisar visits hospitals and talks about vegetable prices Sharif said “he should also visit the home of an oppressed person whose case hasn’t been decided for 20 years”.
“It is not your job to summon the chief minister and make the government stand in the line,” the ousted prime minister told the CJP.
It is pertinent to mention here that as soon as the father-daughter duo went to London to see the ailing Kulsoom Nawaz, pundits at the helm of affairs insinuated that the ousted prime minister will not return from UK to avoid a possible incarceration if convicted by the court.
However, Maryam Nawaz has burst the speculation bubble by tweeting about their departure from Heathrow.
