PIA’s (PK-8303) A-320 crash report to be presented today

ISLAMABAD: Provisional report of inquiry on the PIA’s (flight PK-8303) A-320 aircraft crash near Karachi Airport will be presented before the parliament today.

Sources have revealed that captain of the plane has been blamed for being over-confident while the ground crew have been accused of not handling the matter efficiently. Moreover, it has been stated that PIA and CAA do not happen to harbor the right kind of equipment to prevent such accidents from happening.

It may be recalled that Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar had earlier proclaimed that the provisional investigation report apropos the crash of PK-8303 would be put before the cabinet and public today (22nd of June, 2020).

Meanwhile PM Imran Khan had assured that the probe would be free, fair and transparent and the responsible people would not be pardoned. According to Ghulam Sarwar investigation board had the authority to include any stakeholder during investigation.

It may be recalled that only two people survived the accident. It may be noted that A-320 usually seats 140 to 170 passengers and has a maximum capacity of up to 180 voyagers. If it were not for the COVID-19 social distancing the number of passengers could have been double.
