KARACHI: A week-long exposition of Aamir Ahmed Qureshi’s fifteen realistic paintings was inaugurated on Saturday 28th of May here at Citi Art Gallery.
A Graduate of Arts Council’s Central Institute of Arts and Crafts, Aamir has learnt the métier from a number of masters. His works bear a touch of Shakeel Sddiqui’s style too: “I try to present the reality as it is”.
Speaking about his palette Aamir said that since he painted the reality no color was his favorite: “Most of my inspiration comes from the world around me”. However, certain moods do dictate choice of shades.
He said that he took keen interest in painting historic buildings and landscapes. However, in the exhibition under review Aamir has mostly captured stills including furniture, lantern, vases, books etc.
