Accident on Karakoram Highway claims 7 lives

THALICHI (KARAKORAM HIGHWAY): Seven tourists, including five women, lost their lives when the coaster (carrying 31 voyagers) moving from Lahore to Gilgit fell into a ravine here on Sunday (16th of July, 2023).

The seven dead bodies and 13 injured were immediately taken to the City Hospital Gilgit. FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, expressing regret, stated: “My condolences to the families of the passengers of the ill-fated bus.”

Praying for speedy recovery of the injured, he noted that there was a dire need to create a plan of action to avoid such accidents in the future.
