KARACHI: Veteran actor Talat Hussain passed away in a private hospital here after prolonged lungs-related-malady at the age of 83 on Sunday 26th May, 2024.
Talat Hussain was born in September 1940 in Delhi and after initial edification got the hang of the métier of performing art from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
In recognition of his half-a-century-long remarkable career at Radio, TV and Movies, Government of Pakistan decorated Talat Hussain with the highest civil award Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2021.
In 2006 he received Amanda Award for his role of Allahditta in Norwegian movie Import Eksport. In 1986 he got Nigar Award for best supporting actor in movie Miss Bangkok.
Jamaz-e-Janaza of Talat Hussain was offered at Masjid-e-Ayesha after Asr prayers following which he was laid to rest in DHA qabarstan.
