Afghan Border Forces Shoot 6 Pakistanis

PAK-AFGHAN BORDER: Unprovoked and indiscriminate fire by means of heavy weapons by Afghan Border Forces onto the civilian population in Chaman, (Balochistan)  claimed lives of six Pakistani civilians.

Seventeen civilians too got wounded. While most of the injured are being treated at Quetta Civil Hospital, four in critical condition have been taken to Quetta Civil Hospital where emergency has been imposed.

Pakistani Border Forces retaliated making sure that no Afghan civilian was hurt. Afghan authorities in Kabul have been approached to inform about Pakistan’s concern over the graveness of the state-of-affairs.   

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah took to the Twitter to state: “The incident of shoot out and rocket attack on Pak-Afghan border is very worrying….Details regarding the incident are being collected. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured, the Balochistan government has requested full support and assistance to the affected citizens.”

Pakistan demanded strict action by Afghan authorities to ensure that no such incident recurred in the future. CM Balochistan  Abdul Quddus Bizenjo hoped that the Fed Govt would ensure an immediate and effective diplomatic solution to the problem.

Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique Tweeted: “Pakistani forces took the best action by not targeting the Afghan civilian population as part of retaliatory action,” he tweeted. “The Afghan government should bring the reasons for the attack forward and bring those responsible for the tragedy to justice.”

Former President Asif Ali Zardari condemning the attack warned that peaceful policy of the Pakistan Army in the region should not be considered a weakness,” he warned.
