Afghan forces open fire on Pakistani posts

NUSHKI-GHAZNALI SECTOR: Afghan forces have opened fire on Pakistani posts here on Wednesday ( 9th October, 2024).

Pakistani forces, that were repairing the fence at the border, retaliated by targeting Afghan posts causing heavy losses.

On 7th September, 2024 morning, eight Afghan soldiers (including two key commanders Khalil, Jan Muhammad) lost their lives and 16 got injured due to a clash with Pakistani security forces near Kurram District.

According to details Afghan militants had attacked a Pakistani check post in Palosin area at Pak-Afghan border and suffered heavy losses due to retaliatory firing.

It may be recalled that on 19th September, 2024 Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to UN, while speaking during the UNSC meeting held here, has pointed out that the 34th report of the UN monitoring team had shed sufficient light on the disturbing dimension of terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.

Calling TTP the largest terrorist organisation in Afghanistan, Munir Akram pointed out that the militants were conducting daily terrorist attacks against Pakistan with full support of the Afghan Interim Government.

Ambassador Akram held that his country was ready to cooperate with regional and international organisations to get rid of the TTP menace. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to supporting a peaceful and stable Afghanistan.
