Ali Zafar’s Teefa in Trouble to be released this Eid!

KARACHI: The flicker of crooner-cum-actor Ali Zafar’s forthcoming venture titled Teefa in Trouble is all geared-up to release this Eid-ul-Fitr.

So as to reveal the news and wish his fans Eid in advance, the actor took to Twitter and posted,  “Choti Eid Ka Bara Thofa! Official Trailer of TEEFA IN TROUBLE to release on this Eid-Ul-Fitr in Pakistan and over 1200 screens globally!”

“Eid Mubarak in advance. @TeefaInTrouble,” wrote he.

The movie, which is a joint endeavor of Lightingale productions, Mandviwala Entertainment and Geo Films, is slated to hit the silver screen on July 20.

It has further been learned that a surprise related to the film for admirers is likely to be revealed tomorrow (14 June).

It is pertinent to mention here that Zafar successfully managed to mesmerize his fans in the neighboring country via his Bollywood movies and his upcoming Teefa in Trouble is a high-budget Pakistani film.

Moreover, the celebrated company Yash Raj Films has taken distribution rights of the venture across the globe.

Well, this is surely a glimmer of hope for Zafar and his aficionados amid all the negativity i.e. the allegations of singer Meesha Shafi upon Ali for allegedly harassing her several times.

Ali sent a legal notice demanding Rs1 billion and asking to tender an apology and remove her tweet alleging Ali for abusing her.

The notice reads: “However if you fail to delete the tweet and issue an apology based on Twitter within 14 days of receipt of the legal notice, we have definite instructions from our client to seek remedy for redressal of his grievance and claim damages to the tune of at least Rs100 crores.

“You have accused our client of repeated sexual harassment of a physical nature and through this accusation you have made yourself a part of the global #MeToo movement raising affinities and sympathies for yourself based on a lie and a defamatory campaign being spearheaded by you as a result of which all news channels, newspapers and social media platforms in the country and abroad are reaching conclusions about the character of our client.

“That the fiction tweeted by you is actionable as libel as our client has never sexually harassed you neither has he ever had any intention of sexually harassing you. Your tweet has come as an absolute shock and brought dismay to his person, his family and millions and millions of his followers worldwide.”

Terming the content of the notice bogus, Barrister Muhammad Ahmad Pansota held: “Meesha’s allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar are based on truth thus the issue of defamation does not arise.” (Aiman Inam)
