Army Aviation heli goes missing enroute Uthal to Karachi

KARACHI: A Pakistan Army Aviation Heli, on flood relief mission in Lasbela, harboring Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ali (former DG MI) and 6 others, lost contact with Air Traffic Control at 6.30PM Monday (1st of August, 2022) while enroute Uthal to Karachi.

ISPR took to the Twitter to state: “A Pakistan Army aviation helicopter which was on flood relief operations in Lasbela, Balochistan lost contact with ATC. 6 people were on board, including the commander of 12 corps, which oversees flood relief operations in Balochistan. Search operateAccording to details  Corps Commander (12 Corps) Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ali, DG Coast Guard Major Gen Amjad,  Pilot Major Saeed and Co-Pilot Major Talha are among the six passengers of the Heli who went missing,

Lt. Gen Sarfraz AliPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Tweeted: “The disappearance of Army Aviation helicopter from Balochistan is alarming. The entire nation prays to Allah Almighty for the safety, security and return of these sons of the country who came out to help the flood victims.”

Bike-riding Police along-with FC personnel is carrying out a search operation in the hilly area.

Former PM Imran Khan Tweeted: “Disturbing news of army aviation helicopter missing and praying for all those on board.”
