Arshad Atta appointed Focal Person of Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis in USA

NEW YORK: Muhammad Arshad Atta, a well-known social figure and leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party here, has been appointed as the Focal Person of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development in the USA.

The Ministry expects that he would play his role effectively in solving the problems of Pakistani American community by maintaining close liaison with them and the Pakistani diplomatic missions here.

The notification further held that Arshad Atta will play his role in mobilizing the overseas Pakistani community in terms of remittances.

It is pertinent to mention here that the services of Arshad Atta as focal person will be voluntary and he will also not get any diplomatic status.

Copies of this notification have been sent to Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Joint Secretary Admin Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, Chief Policy Planning Unit, Managing Director Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Managing Director Overseas Employment Corporation.

Muhammad Arshad Atta, while thanking the government of Pakistan, said that he was grateful for the trust and would attempt to render all possible services to overseas Pakistanis.
