“We have asked ICC to avoid sending ‘phateechar’ players to Pakistan,” Sethi pokes fun at Imran

KARACHI: While poking fun at former skipper Imran Khan over his remarks regarding players in PSL’s final, Chairman Executive Committee Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi said that the ICC has been requested to avoid sending ‘phateechar’ players.

“We have asked the cricket body to send high-ranking world players to Pakistan so that Khan Sahib would not say that they have sent ‘phateechar’ players,” Sethi said.

Earlier, when the PCB succeeded to bring some international players including West Indian cricketer Darren Sammy in Pakistan for PSL final in Lahore, Imran Khan had said they were ‘phateechar’ (low-ranking) players.

Sethi said Chairman of ICC’s Pakistan Task Force Giles Clarke has reviewed security report of ICC experts and agreed that world’s current top players would play three T20 matches in Pakistan at the end of Sep.
