ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday directed for registration of criminal case against the investigation officer for not producing case property in the court despite various notices in a case pertaining to the murder of Moulana Azam Tariq.
Earlier, the court had issued various notices as well as warnings for production of case property in the court but it was revealed on the day that complete case property was not available in the court against which the judge expressed anguish and directed to register an FIR against the IO.
The court also directed the prosecution for producing witnesses in the next date of hearing. Earlier the prosecution had filed an application that most of the witnesses including the doctor which prepared the MLR, got retired from their services and were residing outside the country and requested some time for their appearance.
Some 13 suspects were booked by the Islamabad Police in the murder case of Maulana Azam Tariq, who was gunned down by assailants in 2003 in the limits of Islamabad’s Golra police. The hearing will be resumed on 3rd March.
