Australia vs Pakistan, 2nd Test: Green shirts on 142-4 before rain interrupts play

MELBOURNE (DEC 26, 2016): Pakistan on Monday managed to reach 142 against Australia before rain abandoned the Test match being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Misbah eleven won the toss and chose to bat. Four players were sent to pavilion after two sessions and 142 runs. Opener Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq remained unbeaten on 66 and 4 respectively.

According to the media reports, light rain forced players to an early tea break and continued before umpires Ian Gould and Sundaram Ravi called off play leaving the day 39.1 overs short. Play will resume 30 minutes early on the remaining days to make up for the lost time.

Younis Khan (21) and skipper Misbah-ul-Haq (11) were bowled by Bird who provided the hosts with 53 runs.
