KARACHI: Following a decision taken by the PIA’s BoD at a meeting held here today, Aviation Secretary Saqib Aziz, has taken over the charge as Chairman, National Flag Carrier.
It is pertinent to mention here that the post of PIA Chairman was vacant after Ijaz Munir was made Secretary Establishment Division.
Civil Servant Saqib Aziz brings with him long experience of administration. Prior to his posting as Secretary Aviation, he worked as secretary capital administration and development division.
Readers may recall that the Supreme Court of Pakistan had declared PIA CEO’s appointment illegal saying that the airline was in crisis and needed an expert to ameliorate its worsening affairs.
