Azadi March heads towards Sukkur via Hyderabad

KARACHI: Azadi March being led by Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman President Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), that commenced its journey from Sohrab Goth at Super Highway (M9) here, is progressing towards Sukkur via Hyderabad.

According to details workers and leaders of PPP-P, PML-N and ANP are also accompanying Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman. Addressing the Marchers, who converged at Sohrab Goth, Maulana stated: “Imran Khan must tender his resignation. We have proven today that the entire nation is united in its wish to see Imran Khan removed from office…We never accepted the 2018 elections or the government that was formed on the basis of those questionable results.” Fazl-ur-Rehman condemned blocking of the NIC of Hafiz Hamdullah by NADRA and declaring him a confirmed alien.

According to details Marchers will spend the night at Sukkur and will leave for Punjab through Ubauro on Monday (28th October, 2019) morning. Saeed Ghani, Sindh Information and Archives and Labour Minister, has informed that PPP’s Karachi division had made arrangements to welcome the protesters and they would be received by PPP leaders at Jamshoro.

At KP marchers gathered at meeting points in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda and Buner. The marchers from Quetta will be reaching Federal Capital voyaging through Loralai-Dera Ghazi Khan route. Marchers will be joining in from Turbat, Gwadar, Chaghi, and Naushki. The marchers are expected to enter Islamabad by 31st day of October.

ISLAMABAD: All the five central routes leading to the Red Zone here are being sealed by means of freight containers in order to stop participants of the JUI-F orchestrated Azadi March from penetrating into the Red Zone. 

According to details Serena Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Agha Khan Road, PTV Chowk and Margalla Road are being hermetically sealed via containers that are being piled one upon other by using cranes.

Azadi March: Pervez Khattak says terms agreed with Rahbar Committee

ISLAMABAD: Head of the government negotiating team Pervez Khattak while talking to the Media told that terms have been agreed with Rahbar Committee regarding Azadi March. 

He stated that PTI-Government believed in the democratic process in Pakistan and reckoned that protests were the right of the opposition according to the constitution. According to Pervez Khattak under the agreement JUI (F) will not hold its march and protest towards D-Chowk and participants of the march will remain at the open ground of H-9.

Government has also been assured that the participants of March will not violate the law and will record their protest in peaceful manner;  Marchers will  ensure to implement the decisions of High Court and Supreme Court.

Head of Rahbar Committee Akram Khan confirmed: “All 11 of the Committee’s members are in agreement over the fact that the protesters will not enter the Red Zone”. He reiterated the party’s demands i.e.: PM’s resignation, fresh elections, no interference from the military, and the protection of clauses pertaining to Islam within the Constitution.

Calling for NAB to release all political prisoners, Durrani said he rejected the ban on Ansar-ul-Islam: “All parties have such wings and it is beyond my understanding why this one was banned,” he held. He assured that Azadi March would be peaceful and called on the government to open all pathways and roads in the face of an existing threat to the law and order in the country.

He said that he would be leading caravans of protesters from the southern districts as well as North and South Waziristan. Durrani was confident that marchers would be given a warm welcome by all districts that they pass through and said that people from Peshawar, Nowshera and other southern areas will join the caravan. Durrani said that caravans from Chitral and the adjoining areas will take the Karakoram Highway.

JUI-F chief Fazl-ur-Rehman himself will lead the Azadi March caravan in Karachi  (27th day of October, 2019). All Marchers will converge at Sohrab (Super Highway)  Goth for the march towards the North at 10AM. Azadi March will officially begin after an address by Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman at Sohrab Goth manifesting solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir. So far hundreds of buses have been hired to facilitate marchers go to the North.

The NOC issued by the office of DC of Karachi’s East zone, permission has been granted to JUI-F leader Maulana Fatehullah, for the party to hold a rally adjacent to Super Highway, near Total petrol pump in Sohrab Goth.  The permission has been granted subject to the following conditions: No sectarian speeches/objectionable activity which can create hatred among various sects.

No display of arms, sticks, or batons, or any article of such nature; Use of sound amplifying devices will be subject to the West Pakistan Amplifier Ordinance 1965; No road obstruction or disturbance to the general public and traffic; The organised will be responsible for any harm or damage caused to any person or property during the event.

The organizer is solely responsible for any mishap and will have to face the consequences; The internal security of the program is the responsibility of the organizers; The applicant will abide by the orders of the administration and other law enforcing agencies; The organizer shall be responsible for ensuring timings are strictly adhered to and that the situation remains normal.

The violation of this permit shall be seriously viewed and action taken within the relevant laws; The organizer will be held responsible for the violation of the terms and conditions of the NOC; Vehicles will have to be parked approximately 1 km away from the venue; The organizer will arrange walk through gates.
