Azhar Ali jumps to seventh position in ICC Test rankings

DUBAI: International Cricket Council released new rankings on Tuesday after Pakistan’s victory against West Indies on the Dominican grounds.

According to the new Test rankings, ODI skipper Azhar Ali moved one place up to the seventh position following his century-gaining performance on Saturday to claim a historic series win.

Azhar achieved his career-best sixth ranking in December last year and will struggle to improve that record after the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah was able to retain his 13th position in the Test bowler’s rankings.

Meanwhile, Pakistan middle-order right-handed batsman Babar Azam moved eight places up to the 98th position in Tests.
