ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday telephoned foreign ministers of Russia, New Zealand, and Korea to highlight Pakistan’s credentials for the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) membership.
According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement, the Adviser contacted Russian FM Sergey Lavrov, New-Zealand FM Murray McCully, and Korean FM Yun Byung-se as part of the country’s continuing diplomatic efforts towards mobilizing support for Pakistan’s application for the membership of NSG.
“His interlocutors expressed support for a non-discriminatory approach on NSG expansion to non-NPT states,” the press release added.
