Babar Azam scores first century in ODI




SHARJAH: Pakistani batsman Babar Azam played a wonderful inning, scoring 120 for 131 balls in the first One-Day International against West Indies.

It took a superb catch to bring curtains to a magnificent innings from Azam. Azam, who took Pakistan’s score to an unbelievable 250 in 43 overs with a tremendous century, was caught by Kieron Pollard on Carlos Brathwaite ball.

Azam and Sarfraz have brought up their 50-run stand and Pakistan are setting themselves a good platform from where they can explode in the latter stages of the innings. With wickets in hand, Pakistan can aim for a score somewhere close to 300.

ODI captain Azhar Ali was bowled on the first ball of the match, making no score at all.

Earlier, West Indies won the toss and opted to field against Pakistan in the first ODI match at Sharjah.
