Jamia Binoria’s head Mufti Naeem is no more 

KARACHI: Revered religious scholar – head of  Jamia Binoria – Mufti Muhammad Naeem expired here today.

According to sources he was suffering from heart and lung ailments and had been taken to the hospital Saturday (20th of June, 2020)  evening.

Mufti Naeem was the head of International Deobandi Madrassa where a large number of local and foreign students are acquiring religious edification.

Prime Minister Imran Khan took to the twitter to condole his death: “Saddened to learn of the passing of a most respected religious scholar and Chancellor of Jamia Binoria International, Mufti Muhammad Naeem. My prayers and condolences go to his family.”

President Dr. Arif Alvi has said the religious services of late Mufti Naeem would always be remembered. Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has prayed for grant of high status by Allah Almighty to the deceased and courage to the family of the deceased to bear the loss.

Senator Murtuza Wahab (Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Law & Environment, Spokesman Sindh Government – Deputy Information Secretary, PPP Sindh), who has tested positive for COVID-19, wrote on the Twitter:

“Mufti Naeem was a very kind and wonderful human being. I am personally indebted to him for his kindness towards Ammi and my entire family. May Allah SWT bless ur soul with eternal peace. Mufti sb u will be missed.”

Mufti Muhammad Naeem, after  graduating  in 1979  from Jamia Binori Town Madrassa opted to join Jamia Binoria Al-Alamia that was founded by his father.  Preacher of moderate views apropos religion, Mufti Muhammad Naeem had penned a number of books.

He was one of the religious leaders who had supported the anti-polio campaign and declared suicide attacks, insurgency against a state, and use of force to impose Shariah as haram.

In one of the interviews he spoke highly about ISI and said it was one of the best intelligence agencies in the world and played an important role in ensuring the security of Pakistan.

Mufti Muhammad Naeem is survived by his wife and four children.  His funeral prayers was offered today after Namaz-e-Asr.
