Bike riders shot one dead, injured two in sectarian attack in Karachi

KARACHI: Pillion riders opened fire at three pupils travelling on motorcycle Friday evening here in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block- 4.

One of the students identified as Murtuza died before reaching hospital. Other two, Shahid Ali and Ihsan Ali have been admitted in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre with head injuries.

Sources privy to NewsPakistan.TV have informed that police believe since the three belong to Shia sect, the attack was a sectarian target killing.

Area residents blocked the roads and raised slogans against police.

Meanwhile, a policeman has been shot dead in New Karachi.

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has asked the IG Police to explain as to why such incidences were taking place. CM has instructed the IG to increase patrolling all over the city.
