Bilawal, Aseefa and Bakhtawar express displeasure with Benazir murder case verdict

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s children have expressed their displeasure with the judgment in their late mother’s murder case announced today by an anti-terrorism court.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took to Twitter to express his unhappiness.

“SMBB case decision is disappointing & unacceptable. Realse of terrorists not only unjust but also dangerous. PPP will explore legal options,” he said in his tweet.

Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, the youngest daughter of the slain PPP leader, said that “they were still awaiting justice”.

In another tweet, she said that there would be no justice until “Pervez Musharraf answers for his crimes”.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) today announced the verdict in the murder case of the former prime minister, acquitting five Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) suspects and announcing 17-year imprisonment for two police officials including the former police chief of Rawalpindi.

The ATC also declared retired Gen Pervez Musharraf an absconder in the case.
