Bilawal Bhutto speaks at 52nd anniversary of PPP’s foundation at Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFARABAD: Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing a public gathering here on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of PPP-P’s foundation held that ZAB was the real Ambassador of Kashmir.

Maintaining that the incumbent government was not vocal enough apropos Kashmir issue Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that there was a bond between Kashmir and PPP-P right from the very first day and PPP-P had always supported the Kashmiris. Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, instead of bargaining on this issue, opted to shun the government.

According to him Imran Khan has  miserably failed to advocate Kashmir issue all around the world. PPP has Kashmir issue as its main agenda and will never compromise on Kashmir. PPP will never surrender from the demand of right to self determination for Kashmiri people, he said.

Reiterating that  Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had founded Pakistan Peoples Party in order to ameliorate the social and financial condition of the oppressed masses, Bilawal Bhutto held said that PPP-P believed in the principles of Social Democracy in which equal opportunities are available to all the citizens. Everybody was provided free education, health facilities and employment.

Commenting on CPEC Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed Imran Khan and stated that President Asif Ali Zardari had laid the foundation of it. He asked that how a government of selected people which could not draft a simple notification can forge a consensus for making a legislation in the assembly. He also said that the PPP would not allow the selected Prime Minister and his government to take a u-turn on CPEC.

He said that Imran Khan was a failed selected Prime Minister who talks about democracy and freedom of expression in Kashmir but at home he tries to destroy democracy and gags media. Chairman PPP said that the people, Journalism and politics are not free in Pakistan. There has been no legislation for the people in the assemblies.

Terrorists’ interviews are allowed to be aired but the interview of former President Zardari is not allowed to air. This government has taken employment from the people and price-hike has made the lives of people hell. The economy of the country has been surrendered to international financial institutions, he said.

The investors have no trust on this failed government and this government has failed to collect tax. We are an agriculture country but our produces are reducing. This is the failure of this government because this is an anti-grower government. Bailout are for the billionaires but there is no support price for the growers, no facilities for the students and young people in this government.

Pakistan cannot afford anymore experiments. Selected will have to go packing if we want a progressive and prosperous Pakistan. Chairman PPP announced that the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto will be observed in Rawalpindi where father and daughter were snatched from the people.

Earlier in a statement Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on PPP-P’s 52nd foundation day assured that the party would continue to fight for people. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reiterated his commitment to the ideals of the Party’s founding principles for constitutionalism, rule of law, democracy and equality.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pledged his unwavering commitment to the 52-year struggle and stated that he would continue to fight for the rights and will of the people until the emancipation from the structural inequalities that plagued them.

In his message on the eve of PPP’s 52nd Foundation Day, being celebrated at Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu & Kashmir today, the PPP Chairman pointed out that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had stood shoulder to shoulder with disenfranchised Haris, students, intellectuals, artists and the marginalized to empower them. The loudest voice for democracy and the rights of the people, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the flag bearer for an equitable Pakistan, a cause that he fought for till his final breath.

PPP Chairman further stated that Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto managed to give Pakistan its first unanimously approved constitution, a document which even today is the foundation of the Federation. The Constitution, that despite horrendous adventurism by dictatorial forces, serves as the bedrock for Pakistan and is the one democratic action no dictator has been able to undo.

Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and the Pakistan Peoples Party, was the architect of Pakistans nuclear program, ensuring Pakistan and its sovereignty remains safe from external threats. The Peoples Party Government, under then Chairperson Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, also led the way in creating a backbone for our economy by building and setting up projects like Pakistan Steel Mills, Port Qasim, Heavy Mechanical Complex, and setting up industries across the country from Badin to Bajaur.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also paid rich tribute to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for picking up the flag and leading the charge for democracy and the rights of the people following the judicial murder of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The tin-pot dictatorship of Zia-ul-Haq had thought he could snuff our the light of the will of the people by assassinating Pakistans first democratic Prime Minister, but she fought valiantly against the forces of darkness and dictatorship and led the masses in the struggle for restoration of democracy.

As Prime Minister, she fought for the rights of women, setting up the First Women’s Bank, creating Women Police Stations, appointing the first female High Court Judges and beginning the renowned Lady Health Worker Programs.

Unions were legalized once more and she lived up to her name, becoming a beacon of light for students, laborers, peasants, farmers, traders, the disenfranchised and the marginalized. Under her leadership the PPP government also established largest number of educational institutions and hospitals in the country.

According to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari PPP-P believes in the Constitution and that every institution has to work within the the defined ambit of constitution so that Pakistan can become the nation its founding fathers wished it to be.

Both the Founder Chairman, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and its following Chairperson, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, had laid down their lives for democracy because they believed in the central tenet of the Pakistan Peoples Party, “Either power must pass to the people or everything else will perish”.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Muzaffarabad was chosen as the venue to celebrate PPP’s 52nd Foundation Day because one of the core founding issues was the Kashmir cause.

Given the silence and inaction of the Federal Government in the face of the reign of terror unleashed in the valley by the Butcher of Gujarat Modi, the Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said: “The PPP continues to support the right of self-determination for Kashmiri people and reinforce its commitment into the third generation.”

He also vowed that PPP leadership and workers would not rest until the mission of PPP-P’s martyred leadership was completed. Pakistan must become an egalitarian, equitable society.

A nation where we judge not by caste, creed or race, but a nation where we are measured by our compassion and humanity.

He further stated that his mission was to make Pakistan a role model Muslim country where the rights of all are respected and where prosperity and peace are shared by everyone equally.
